The Silver Jubilee celebrations of CII's 25th National Quality Summit 25-26 November with the theme "Quality Evolution -Journey through Innovation" concluded on an enthusiastic note and proved to be a grand success. Over 600 delegates attended the Summit, which was addressed by over 40 national.
Since the introduction of TPM in the year 1991, the Indian industry recognized the benefit of this technology and whole heartedly adopted to improve its competitiveness. Introduced in the year 1969 in Nippon Denso, Japan, the primary focus of TPM is to establish the concept of Zero Failure of Equipment extending to Production Efficiency Enhancement.
In the journey of TPM, specically with respect to Breakdown, Autonomous Maintenance and Planned maintenance Pillar work hand in hand. The typical approach that is taken in first year is through a small set of Machines – “Manager Model Machines” where the TPM possibility in the company is tested. This journey would be typically for a period of 6-9 months.
